A Long Week

On Monday the 23rd of February
we started recording "Empires &
Endings". The EP that would
hopefully catapult us from the small
local band we are, to reach new heights
and bring you the best music and
live act possible.

So the boys went in on monday along with our right hand man Gigz,
with a heavy Yr 12 schedule to fulfill i was out of the picture till
thursday. And might i add those days were possibly the longest of
my life. Monday saw Tobi tracking rough guide tracks and Nic
laying down the drums for all but two tracks, which is a massive
effort on his part. Those drum tracks aint no walk in the park.

Already sounding incredibly phat, i get a call tuesday 4th period.
We were aready running behind schedule and i would have to come
in a day earlier on wednesday. So siked, i got home packed my shit
and went over my guitar parts. After a fucking long drive to blacktown
we spend the better part of the day playing skate and cod 4 waiting
for Dave to edit the drums.

And So It Draws Closer

And so the date draws closer.
The date that in my views
will ultimatly decide our
fate.

Its been set, and we will enter the studio on the 23rd Feb to record
our next record. As per our last EP, it will be fully produced, with
proper cd, album art etc. Will consist of six new tracks, the best
to come out of Maze to date, and a bonus track which most fans
have come to love.

An incredible amount of time and energy has been put into the
making of this EP and if it doesn't work out, i fear we will become
the same as every other local northern beaches band that has
had success withun their grasp; mere footnotes in lives of others
who have busted out of the local scene. But hopes are high, as
the music on the record will of the highest standerd in terms of
musicianship. I just hope that the vast majority of people out there
can appreciate it.

I cannot express how excited i am through words, nor any other
means of expression, perhaps only the music we are about to record
can portray it.The Ep name along with track names i dare not include,
but closer to the realese date i will tell.
If anyone reading this would be interested in pre-ordering are something
along those lines feel free to message my myspace account here.

Cheers.

The Band

Maze, consists of 4 members including myself.
Having only joined 8-9 months ago i already
feel as if i have been there from the start, but
i cant help but feel spoilt, as i have had the chance
to jump into an already establish band of this caliber.

I don't feel the need to spend much time on this matter as im sure most of  you reading will know me, the band and of course what we are all about. For those who don't, we combine elements from multiple genres, melding them togetherand creating a sound that is unique and pure. This is complimented by a stage act full of energy that always guarantees a great time.

As i have said, i need not spend much time on this, you can
decipher us for yourselves.
What more to add?
I will no longer bore you with pleasantries and introductions, from here i
will document our journey.
thankyou

Introduction

We Will Make It:
We will make it, if it is the last thing we do.
Late saturday night after returning from a show at
the Manning bar i decided upon making this blog.
I had gotten into a fight or two that night while
dancing, and as i looked around myself i realized
the real magnitude of some ideas i had been speculating
a few months prior. The scene had been almost completely
and utterly destroyed, me honing in on the NB in general.

I witnessed little girls and boys, which i could have only guessed
there age to be about 14, people there for mere socializing and a
vibe that under no circumstances could be considered chilled. People
with crossed arms and stern faces scattered amongst the room,
scanning for people to pry and pick on who are lacking
"merchandise" and other such material objects which by no means
make you better then someone else. I watched as kids franticly
purchased red shore and as blood runs black t-shirts, quickly
slipping them on over own. During the set-up time i heard individuals brag
about how hard they "threw down" and how great the spin kick was
that they unleashed. Through all of this, i came to the conclusion
that a vast majority of the appreciation of the music we so dearly
love had been discarded and tossed away as if it were nothing.
(note: in this case not everyone)

I knew in my heart that i had not been part of this downfall, but we
have all contributed to it in some way shape or form, all of us
who enjoy the distorted sounds of, any type of metal/hardcore.
I couldn't bear the thought, it hit me.

The only way to segregate from the rest, was to be up
there, i would make it, we would make it. If it was the
last thing i would do.

And although my fiery passion for music drives me, a new purpose
adds, i will be up there, i will do what i love for the rest of my life.

This blog will detail the happens around the band im in and, our
quest to make it. Along with this will be some thoughts and ideas
on shows and any happenings that set my interests alight.
I will begin regular posting soon, promote this blog as much as you
can.
Thankyou.
